A paragraph from the Atlantic: "Late yesterday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emailed a response: β€œAs we have repeatedly stated, there was no classified information transmitted in the group chat. However, as the CIA Director and National Security Advisor have both expressed today, that does not mean we encourage the release of the conversation. This was intended to be a an [sic] internal and private deliberation amongst high-level senior staff and sensitive information was discussed. So for those reason [sic] β€” yes, we object to the release.” (The Leavitt statement did not address which elements of the texts the White House considered sensitive, or how, more than a week after the initial air strikes, their publication could have bearing on national security.)"

Yeah it isn't exactly professional to leave yourself open to two [sic]s in one emailed quote.

Not only did their EIC get added to a group chat, but now the Atlantic gets to hit the White House PRESS SECRETARY with two [sic]s in one quote that was SENT BY EMAIL.

A shot from a cyclist’s perspective in front of a β€œWelcome to North St. Paul” sign. Four cans of beer are holstered over the top tube of the bike.

Spring has arrived, which means you’re finally allowed to ride your bike to Wisconsin and smuggle some spotted cow back to Minneapolis.

When you told me to run to the grill, open it as if I am looking for something, and then immediately close it and run away like I hadn't found what I was looking for was a stroke of directorial genius.

The Uptown Minneapolis Cub was built on the site of the Millers Hockey Arena. I have to admit: I was dangerously close to forgetting their deeds.

After great consideration, I will be amending my opinion from β€œThe Yankees should get with the times and let players have beards” to β€œThe Yankees are fickle cowards who have changed one of the few charming things about their franchise.”

It is always the appropriate time to hate the Yankees.

A black and white informational sign titled "Should we help people in other countries?" It includes pictures of starving people and pictures of of efforts to help. It includes this text "No de felly ore perfeet ha Huber es. phren. But he neer foured it hard
so, he beliered, were human aspirations for a decent, productive life. If you chose to criticize him, you could even argue that he failed to realize the many ways in which other people, other cultures, were different from Americans in what they wanted from life and from society. But at the most basic level people were alike.
They feared hunger and sought dignity wherever they lived, and Humphrey felt an intense obligation to do what he could to help. In his view, it was the special responsibility of Americans to share their prosperity. But the world's needs were endless. Has there any limit to our obligation- and to our resources?" as well as this quote: "This is the first generation in all of recorded history that can do something about the scourge of poverty. We have the means to do it. We can banish hunger from the face of the earth."

In a small act of defiance, this old sign has been hung up again in the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. (h/t @lunargiraffe.bsky.social)

Two photos of the Midtown Greenway. One is while it was still abandoned rail lines running under bridges, the image is bleak grays and browns. The other photo is of the greenway as a bike and pedestrian trail. The trail is crowded by bikers and walkers. The foliage around the trail is lush green.

Visionary changes can shift the course of what's possible in short order.

The Midtown Greenway pre-2000 vs modern day.

If we re-invent X Premium but make it actually viable, it might drive Elon insane, which would be fun.
