Have done this with paint samples, the old school way: put one scoop of each color into a paper cup, mix well, paint onto a piece of cardboard or something, and take to the paint store to be color matched.

I dropped a poster tube in the #sdcc exhibit hall trying to get a signature. The poster inside has 2 dozen autographs collected at events in multiple states and countries. The tube has a name and address on it, it’s easy to id; but I’m devastated, I feel like such an idiot. #sdcclostandfound

The electric situation in Texas is an example. Pre-privatization, things were pretty solid. Then privatization happened around 2000, and everything went to hell.

Honestly, grocery prices have skyrocketed here in the last few years, and fast food/low-end restaurants haven’t increased nearly as much. So it’s not really that takeout is cheap, but the grocery store chains have been bleeding us dry and the relative difference in price isn’t as much.

I don’t know if it’s an acceptable alternative, but I have seen authors use it to sell books and audiobooks.

It is fucking insane that we had a decade of people complaining about the dangers of cancel culture, and now literally hundreds of thousands of people are being purged from government jobs for ideological reasons, but that is not cancel culture.

A creek meanders away, into a pond awash in sunshine. The surrounding grasses and trees are verdant and yellow-green in the haze of bright summer light.

This weekend I’ve gone on four walks through forests, read and wrote under a tree for hours, and had a picnic in the sunshine on a breezy day.

It didn’t fix the injustices of the world, but I’m replenished in a way that will help me fight them longer and better.
