I understand. I feel you. I was attacked with the normal violent words long before the censors appeared; and thousands of Swifties have gleefully described themselves as deceased/unalived/six feet under/etc in a fun, positive way. Usage varies.

Iโ€™m an artist. Censorship and art are antithetical.

I mean, 35-40 years ago โ€œdissโ€ wasnโ€™t a regular part of daily talk but now itโ€™s common to see pretty much everyone using โ€œdissโ€ in โ€œseriousโ€ conversations. There are words and meaning we use in 2025 that didnโ€™t exist in 2005 or 1995.

Maybe we should just let AI write since humans arenโ€™t perfect.

Dickens was chock full of slang. Probably give the anti-unalived contingent a collective heart attack had they lived back then.

I donโ€™t think they voted for losing jobs, losing benefits, losing basic civil services, and making the economy less stable and more expensive to live in. They voted for racist, anti-immigration policies and fiscal responsibility (like maybe making some rich people pay fair taxes?), not golf trips.

Hey, sometimes us oldsters have fun with new slang amongst ourselves. My husband and I (both writers) love using new slang, playing with jargon, and making up new stuff on our own. How could we write
It if we donโ€™t live with it a bit?

04.08.2025 22:16 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

People use the word. Itโ€™s not pejorative or bigoted or anything but fun and recent and a literal sign of the tech censor times. My goodness, imagine the huff youโ€™dโ€™ve had over Dickens back in the day. *So much* slang. Immersive. Words 19th-century grammarians probably responded to the same way.

Language is ever evolving so if a writer wants to write "unalive" especially if it's a part of the character's dialogue, let them. Who cares?

"Elon Musk has platformed white supremacists and antisemites on X. He got rid of all the moderation. He put back accounts that were clearly neo-Nazis. He's changed algorithms to promote that type of hate.
Him and DOGE did massive cuts in the government, including our civil services.

"He's cut our aid to Africa, which Will result, without exaggeration, in millions of women and children and innocent people dying. Millions," he said. "I'm not a big fan of people who give the Hitler salute. I mean, I'm kind of fussy like that. He gave it twice at Trump's inauguration," he continued. "He's a Nazi. And he cheats at video games. You have another question?"

More than four out of five Americans, 83%, said they were concerned about the cost of groceries, with 46% saying they were very concerned. Some 47% said they were worried about being able to pay their rent or mortgage, 64% said they were worried about affording an unexpected medical expense.
About 48% said they believed they would have trouble affording an unexpected $500 bill without borrowing. One in four said it would be "very difficult"
A quarter of those surveyed said they spent at least three hours a day worrying about their finances and ability to afford basic necessities. Another 25% of respondents said they or someone in their household had skipped meals in the past year in order to make ends meet, and 26% said they had fallen behind on their monthly bills over the past year.

a golden retriever puppy is scaling the wall of her crate. her front legs are draped over the top holding herself up, while her back right toes are gripping onto a bar of the crate. she realizes she's been caught and tries to play it cool with a casual smile. we would be remiss to leave out that she has a hamster water bottle attached to the side of her crate.

โ€œStaggeringโ€ Water Loss Driven by Groundwater Mining Poses Global Threat A new study finds that freshwater resources are rapidly disappearing, creating arid โ€œmegaโ€ regions and causing sea levels to rise.

Nearly 6 billion people live in the 101 countries that a new study has identified as confronting a net decline in water supply โ€” signaling enormous challenges for food production and a heightening risk of conflict and instability.

The oil industry buys off Congress. No action on climate.

The NRA buys off Congress. No action on guns.

Insurance companies buy off Congress. No action on health care.

The list goes on and on.

Money in politics is the root of our dysfunction.

If your business model doesnโ€™t work without breaking the law and stealing things, youโ€™re not in business.

Youโ€™re in organized crime.

But donโ€™t take *my* word for it. Listen to this testimonial from an actual convicted felon:
