Revenue sharing is robust enough that there are many teams that just don't try. They can afford to but won't cause why risk margin?

Force them to spend more and try to get that money.

The Jays are lucky that it is far more advantageous for Rogers if the team is competitive than not. The benefit of having a 40+ million market that rallies when they're good but not otherwise.

I don't hate the Dodgers for spending. The issue is the teams that don't. The system in baseball allows the wrong owners to not care and print money.

I'm not against a cap in baseball but it needs a significant floor to force half the league to play ball or sell.

I've never necessarily thought baseball needed a hard cap but it needs a floor. The two usually go hand in hand.
