Secret opinion
(Because fairly sure no one I know reads this stuff β¦.)
I am trying to do more of what I want or donβt want and less of what other people want me to do. Iβm trying to be polite and kind but so far this week Iβve had a dear friend be rude to me and now Iβve got a sulking husband.
Good luck Erin! Thank you for standing I feel BACP needs fresh perspectives and I feel like thatβs what you will bring (and more)

Grateful for this growing community thank you

Good luck!
Yes good point !

So far heβd achieved carrotwobbles; radishwobbles and beetrootwobbles. Flushed with success (and beetroot) he was now ready for collywobbles #wackywordwed

Although there can be much merit in extending congruence to allow for acknowledgement of who we are that might include levels of experience⦠yes?
Yes me too - also over the years my notes have got much briefer I used to write reams when I started because I was so scared of missing anything out

But once again fictitious representations of a therapist are very odd. One minute sheβs offering therapy, the next she pretending heβs her brother and then sheβs round his house!
That sounds lovely. I went to my weekly yoga class today and then an afternoon of house cleaning leaves me feeling cleared out and reset physically, emotionally and environmentally!

27.05.2025 06:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Posts that assertively demand we all stop doing this or calling something that when no-one I know, have read or worked with have ever used these terms π
What is that all about?
Enlist your supervisorβs support.
Consistency is key - whatever your stated approach is needs to be demonstrated in your case study and throughout. Donβt deviate and donβt over complicate.
Good luck !
trompe l'oeil - to trick the eye
Trumped up charges - to trick a legal process
Trumpery - to endeavour to trick the world

I just donβt understand when narcissistic traits became like witch burning. Isnβt it our job to work with people to help them live better lives?
Iβm a CSA survivor and did my fair share of hurting myself and others when I was younger. Imagine if we were all demonised rather than supported.
I see things on social about how anxiety belongs to one generation or another and I think itβs nonsense.
All of us throughout our lives may feel anxious, overwhelmed etc. I think itβs useful to understand how age and social context impact that but not in order to take sole ownership.
Your view?
Woah
Epic !!
This makes sense!
15.05.2025 20:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Nick Iβm not being funny but I have never heard anyone ever talk about their ideal client. Am I living under a rock ?
15.05.2025 20:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I have a neuro divergent supervisor. She is fantastic!
I learn so much from her in many different ways but specifically:
I have learned how we build relationship together in ways that suit us both and how we can notice, discuss and learn from differences between us.
Love your congruent space this stuff matters !!
12.05.2025 08:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes same itβs accessible and I have recommended it to clients as well as supervisees
12.05.2025 07:28 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Getting sloppy with notes and all the hidden parts of our work. I always think of it as stuffing things behind cushions. They may be unseen but we know they are there generating shameβ¦.
03.05.2025 09:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Really relate to this. I think congruence is perhaps the hardest thing to achieve as it is inextricably linked to self awareness and self acceptance of all that we are - or at least all that we can ever truly know of ourselves
03.05.2025 09:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes - Iβve always thought it is the appropriate response to find what was done to me as a child to be cruel and outside of societal norms. Itβs not my job to normalise it but to find ways to live with it.
02.05.2025 06:52 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When I first qualified I found it hard to admit to my supervisor that I didnβt know things β¦.poor woman had to put up with years of me saying βyes I know I knowβ when I very much did not know!!!
