You sell up, one of two things happens: another landlord buys the house, or an owner-occupier does. The house doesn't disappear from the nation's housing supply. It's the weirdest kind of object impermanence around.

Every now and then, some spokeslandlord or other will stick their head up and say "All the landlords will sell up and then where will you filthy renters be, huh? HUH?"

And it's like, stop threatening me with a good time.

The 2026 mission: conquering Mount TBR

So 2025 was the #pratchettproject, which is ongoing, I still have a couple of Wizards/UU books, & then onto witches and Tiffany Aching; but 2026 is the year I finally conquer Mt TBR. rotheche.neocities.org/2026 has my list of queued books, and my goal for the year is to get it under 20 or so.

You don't bind wounds until you've cleaned them properly. If you don't, you're just asking for the problem to come back worse than ever.

Went past me in Bendigo in about 10 minutes. A mix of petrichor and smoke scents, and about 20 galahs squabbling in the tree and on the powerlines out the front, some of them hanging upside down from the powelinesl, enjoying playing in the rain.
