This is incorrect and rude to those fighting successfully for zoning reform here. Just like every community going through this effort (Minneapolis, Berkeley, etc.) there’s a loud minority and they’re going to lose, just like they lost the mayoral election.

No, he was frustrating for most of the meeting. He talks a good progressive game, but when it comes time to vote he finds technicalities to vote against everything.

I’m not counting on his support of H 2.1, even though he co-wrote it! But we should have the votes regardless. 🤞

Thanks to long filibustering by Kelly, the meeting was adjourned just 3 items away from voting on H 2.1. Early word is that another session will be scheduled for next Monday.

That’s interesting! I heard the public hearing info from council members at the 3/8/9 wards meeting. Maybe they’re concerned that it’d be a lot of pressure to finalize under the gun.

They have 90 days to vote on the comprehensive plan once LUC approved it. That deadline can be extended if they hold a public hearing. I expect that they’ll tackle the least controversial (non-zoning) parts on Monday, announce a public hearing on zoning, and then vote in August.
