Cover of βthey Knew: how a culture of conspiracy keeps America complacentβ by Sarah kendzior
There will be a new @sarahkendzior.bsky.social post about this week but really just read βThey Knewβ and youβll have all the details with references.

10.11.2025 15:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The ACA made my whole self-employed life possible. For almost ten years, I was able to build a career that actually worked for me AND keep receiving necessary care to address the consequences of childhood medical neglect. And I still deserved better. We all do.

10.11.2025 02:57 β π 435 π 74 π¬ 7 π 9Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
10.11.2025 02:11 β π 6635 π 2229 π¬ 297 π 219The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.
The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.
People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. Itβs about peopleβs lives.
And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

There should be no deal that leaves working families behind.
The agreement to hold a vote on ACA subsidies is not a concession. It's worth literally nothing. It should be ignored when evaluating the merits of the deal

09.11.2025 20:41 β π 676 π 146 π¬ 14 π 12Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.
09.11.2025 20:42 β π 6784 π 2772 π¬ 580 π 595I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.
It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
Also, the freaking awful headline. Do better #suntimes this is purely evil and unacceptable.

Partner wanted to make a big brunch, but was upset we didnβt have syrup or orange juice for mimosas. 20 minutes later, I came back into the apartment with both, plus a few other things.
Everyone deserves walkability.
