I do not believe that is possible to be honest while pushing the lie that switching to a heat pump, which provides heat two to four times more efficiently than burning fossil fuels is not cleaner than burning fossil fuels.

I don't know if you are incapable at mathematics or if you are dishonest.

Yes burning oil is bad. But what % of the ISO’s total generation is oil over the last 30/60/90 days? Over the last year? Is oil even above 1% for 2025 total generation?

I’m genuinely curious, I don’t know. While it’s crazy to burn oil at all, we should put that fact in context.

Is there a time stamp for that graph? My understanding is the use of oil for generation these last few weeks in ISONE has been the exception. I don’t know when the last time oil made up an appreciable percentage for more than a day or two, and for that, only in the middle of winter.

If sodium ion supply chains and be established and demand maintained to achieve economies of scale, their lower cost (despite relatively modest energy density) should mean a lot more cheap grid-scale batteries … right?

In Passumpsic, a Long-Lost Love Letter Is Found Under an Attic Floor At four pages long, the 1879 letter strikes a range of emotions, with mentions of β€œsweet kisses,” his-and-hers pillowcases, illness, and untimely death.

This @sevendaysvt.bsky.social story is so beautiful. The great human drama of an entire life unspools from a single letter. Please read to the end. www.sevendaysvt.com/arts-culture...

Thinking about lying Climate denial taught our leaders shamelessness

β€œWhere the GOP learned to lie as a matter of course is an interesting question, and I’m afraid I’ve had a front row seat. I think it’s the climate fight, more than anything else, that taught them to regard reality as optional.”

This is a terrific and rich discussion on critical minerals. Key point for me is that if you want minerals ot batteries for drones or for other military applications, demand pull from EV sector was the way to create sufficient commercial market for them. Very difficult to get without EV demand pull.

Accountability for ICE and CBP However bad you think the corruption and misconduct at ICE and CBP is β€” the reality is far far worse.

I testified Friday before Gov. Pritzker's commission studying abuses of ICE and CBP and tried to explain how the agencies went so far off track. It's actually way worse than I ever realized. Please read and share my testimony as Congress considers reform: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/accountabi...

According to the EIA's short-term outlook, the cost of natural gas fuel to generate electricity is going to increase in price 73% by 2027. So, we should use less gas as soon as possible to save people money.

Balmy 5F in coastal downeast Maine this morning. Checking to be sure the sump pump outflow isn’t frozen. I also checked the heat pump. Still kind of grumpy the defrost mode takes so long to kick in. This is not efficient. But we’re still happy with our heat pumps. #heatpumps #energysky #greensky

Underneath the name Charlie Hebdo is a pile of bloodied dead bodies representing US citizens killed by ICE. The pile of bodies are collected in one corner to represent the stars of the US flag and the streaks of blood caused by them being dragged across the ground form the red and white stripes. In the foreground an armed skinhead officer with an ICE vest is dragging his latest victim with multiple gunshots to join the pile. The world is watching in horror.

"ICE 101" β€” How Trump changed ICE and CBP into a fascist secret police ICE and CBP are fatally flawed products of the post-9/11 War on Terror β€” now Trump has weaponized those very flaws to occupy America.

Curious why ICE and CBP agents are so brutal?
