Been here a few times - in a couple of cases it was my rpi3 overheating. At least with a pi you can provide a config.txt to force booting with init=/bin/sh - though this assume you can have the sdcard removed and there is an sdcard reader available…

Purely anecdotal as there appear to be no studies… but I feel like pocket knife ownership is not strongly gendered in the southern USA. This might also be a socio-economic thing. “Rich people and Yankees don’t have knives” feels like something innate.

One of my dogs is a stickler for scheduling. No schedule is allowed to change without complaint. (I say this as the dog glares at me because I have stayed at the computer an additional 6 minutes past the 8:30 post breakfast walk)

So we went to the Superman movie. It was good. But that’s not what’s on my mind. There was a preview for something with a character named reed richards and it wasn’t the fantastic four but it took me a minute or two to realize this wasn’t the most boring f4 movie ever. Not sure what it was. 😅

I rarely report bugs these days because the work of carefully constructing a narrative that won’t result in “you’re holding it wrong” is too much effort. (I think this is subtly different than providing a good bug report. Perhaps analogous to defensive programming)

And to be clear, this applies to AI summaries of anything where the information needs to be accurate.

The summary *might* be accurate if you’re lucky, but there’s no reason it has to be.

I find the autocomplete version of ai coding much more useful as I can confine it to work how I want it to. Also takes less time to “review”

I tried using Jules to write a new mdns module for one of my toy projects and I ended up not using any of the code because it added too much boilerplate. Refining the prompts only made it worse, and it spent a lot of time on compiler errors.
