The quality of football this season is atrocious in the Prem, the rise of set piece heavy, cautious stuff is just horrible to watch.

Chris Wood keeps scoring the teams first shot wasn't going to keep up no matter how they played.

Ange shouldn't have gone to Forest as its an unstable environment and he needs a talent advantage for his football and him coaching anything that is not Ange ball is bad.

They should have moved for Ange if they wanted to do this in the summer, at least give him time to implement his ideas, and they would also have to look at last seasons number as the baseline they were coming from not last years finish.

Last season no team had lower pressing numbers than Forest, before our team all broke and it fell off our pressing numbers were basically the most extreme in the Prem since Bielsa.

So you have a side worse than perception, built for a different style with no time on the training pitch. There aren't managers with much bigger gaps in their ideas than Ange and Nuno. The best case scenario is they improve but get worse results as Chris Wood wasn't going to score every shot again.

It was a weird appointment, they made some signings moving towards Ange thinking Douglas Luiz in particular but bringing him in mid season even if it could work was just a recipe for disaster. They also were far from the 7th best side last season.

The question is less with players are they good at these prem sides quite often is are their qualities transferable to a bigger club and are their deficiencies that their system hides going to be exposed when they are going to have more of the ball or when they are not the main hub of the team.

Forest built a squad to play low block and counter under Nuno i have always been skeptical how many step up. Milenkovic being asked to defend outside his box just exposes his limitations, Elanga has had a slow start at newcastle and is very much a player that thrives in open space.

Last two years that would be 4th bottom in xG and non penalty xG

This year it’s 14th for xG and 12th for non penalty xG

Frank is a better manager than Nuno and we are better with worse talent my point is if we go only by points as the only way of judging then the start of that season we were as good then as we were in 15/16.

Oh I agree the manner of defeats as they were thrashing and and to who played a big part in that though I was super frustrated even when top after 3 games and knew it was going to be short. Heck I went openly Nuno out after the palace debacle which was 4 games in.

To be clear I am not comparing us right now to Nuno just illustrating the fact that results dont always tell the full story.

We are much better than Nuno is my point but if that disconnect of performances and results existed then it’s evidence it’s possible to exist over a 7 game run. We got 15 from 8 under Nuno we aren’t going to be as bad as we were back then then if we draw the next game.

I think the way I am seeing it is we are on 2 points more than under Nuno we were really atrociously relegation level that year at the start. If it’s possible to reach that conclusion rightly off 12 points in 7 games why is 14 points from 7 games and we look mid table such a terrible take?

No one is saying we are unhappy with the results or where we are in the league people are worried about sustainability of what we are doing and how it’s not great to watch.

We started last season im uneven but blistering form, but also ran cold, then everyone broke and we were atrocious. So do you compare to when people were fit, the average or the last 2/3rds of the season

What the correct point of comparison is for each thing is a really interesting question which is basically going to define how people view things.

I remember reading a Fulham fan saying he was their best player by a distance and their midfield became more coherent without him. I get it. His tackling is absurd but the trade off is big if you ever want to have the ball.

I thought there positives especially down the left I also don’t think the overall performance was particularly good. Again I am saying this based on what I watched then using the numbers as evidence. Part of it might just be stylistically this stuff doesn’t appeal to me.
