Any good sources on architectural section/plan view drawings for Glasgow’s sandstone buildings? Old stone buildings in both the U.S. and abroad always strike me as being HEAVY! : )

A Republican mayor of Clearfield, UT (near SLC) just described challenges to housing incl. NIMBY (Not In My Backyard), and BANANA (Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything). The Democratic mayor of Long Beach, CA was on the interview too!

That’s amazing a foundry (or foundries?) were able to make something so practical so beautiful too, with all those details in the metal!

The wife picked up this sticker for my out in far western WNC yesterday. Possums are my favorite! And this sentiment gave me laugh for these strange times.

It's not just a potential prison, it's also a tourist trap generating $60m per year. It has an "opportunity cost" other sites don't have.
👉 Housing 300 prisoners there comes with an additional opportunity cost of $200k per person per year

There’s only one way for our legislators to know that we support pro-housing measures for North Carolina. We have to tell them!

And maybe post a sign with pee, poop, and toilet paper-only icons with check marks, and prohibition X’s on cigarette, tampon, trash can icons?
I saw this sign on a British train 10 years ago, it’s a good laugh and hopefully keeps maintenance issues to a minimum.
Sorry to hear that, and there really should be better public education/awareness on water/sewer systems, they’re modern miracles! I say that as an Asheville, NC resident that had no running water for 18 days after Hurricane Helene, but with 1.5 gal. “gravity bucket flushes”, our WWTP never stopped!

Nice use of a front yard instead of a lawn! Grass tastes TERRIBLE! ; ) I also have a front “yarden” (yard+garden). That’s hardneck garlic in the middle and potatoes starting on the right; all the other beds are waiting on summer stuff.
