there's never been a better opening 90 seconds of a movie than the theatrical version in terms of setting up time / place / vibe without a single line of dialogue.

But as a huge fan of the film, I think the ideal version lies somewhere between the two cuts.

The theatrical version (starts in the nightclub) is the version to watch initially - It flows much better for a first watch.

The directors cut (starts on water) is best watched if you watch the theatrical version & think "yeah, this film is for me" and want a slightly diff experience
