Trump administration tells Congress war law doesn’t apply to cartel strikes The Office of Legal Counsel told select lawmakers that the executive branch is not bound by the War Powers Resolution, which requires congressional approval for any military action that exceeds 60 day...

In September, the administration gave Congress notice of the first strikes on boats in the Caribbean “consistent with the War Powers Resolution.”

Now, after 60 days, it says the Resolution does not apply, claiming that these strikes do not constitute hostilities.

Live updates: Trump administration says SNAP will be partially funded after judges’ rulings President Donald Trump’s administration said Monday that it will partially fund SNAP after a pair of judges’ rulings required it to keep the food aid program running.

Grateful these funds are finally going out, but it shouldn’t take two court orders for Trump to do the right thing. And funding shouldn’t be partial—especially after Republicans cut $186 billion from SNAP.

American families deserve better. End the shutdown & restore SNAP.

Our communities are facing the largest SNAP cut in history & this government shutdown is making hunger worse. With 42% of our neighbors relying on SNAP, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
