A dipterist's dipteron, the elusive Borboropsis puberula. The only member of the family in the UK. Restricted to the Scottish Highlands. This one from Ben Lawers is probably the 7th UK record.

On Monday our instagram account was hacked and then deleted. We received a ransom note to recover it; obviously we couldn't and wouldn't pay, and therefore lost thousands of followers. Meta support was useless. But we're BACK with a new account: @littletollerbooks. Can you follow us there and share?

In Puerto Rico there are 29 species of Chiton & its thought the area with the greatest diversity of polyplacophores in the Caribbean.

I believe this one is Acanthopleura granulata, commonly called the West Indian fuzzy chiton (as if I could love them any more!!)

So. Many. Fiddler crabs

Left/right - it doesn’t matter what side but one is always an enlarged claw or major cheliped, & they are used for drumming/waving when they see a female.

The smaller one is for feeding so they have to work twice as hard as the females who have 2 similar small sized claws

A lush green farmland scene stretches into the distance under a bright blue sky with scattered clouds. In the foreground, a cluster of white and yellow wildflowers sways in the breeze. Overlaid on the sky, bold white text reads: "But farmers need support to be more nature-friendly." Below, smaller text explains that cutting the farming budget would mean cutting support for nature-friendly farming, which could harm both nature and the economy.

Across the UK, farmers are proving that farming and nature can thrive together. But they can’t do it alone.

If the UK Government slashes funding, we risk undoing all this progress.
