Shady actions like this, to keep the public in the dark is why NEJM & CIDRAP are launching weekly public health alerts, free for the public.

There are some very strange things going on at the Library of Congress. I’m doing searches for news articles from the Civil Rights Era. Political cartoons. That sort of thing. They used to be easily found.
That stuff is VERY hard to find now. Things are missing, people.
Okay fantastic.
Now I want you to read these replies and think to yourself hot damn, I might feel like shit is going really awry but that's a lot of people out there just all invested in adding to the well being of anyone who needs to be helped, or held, or comforted, or protected.

What explicates this choice and justifies it as ethical?
Despite being considered an absolute, inviolate identity, patients are not viewed as a source of ✨knowledge✨; instead, inclusion is seen as a hoop to jump through to receive funding; and as a virtue signal rather than engaging ethically. 🧵
Phones and social media often gets blamed for the youth mental health crisis. But if we're going to let correlation be a proxy for causation, then why aren't we making the same case about how the rise of high-stakes academics has crowded out music and art?
