CARES was good and Democrats had a duty to pass it since they held the House. While it did give people warmer memories of Trump come 2024, that would not have been a problem if he had been arrested on Jan. 20th.

In the alternate history where Democrats have the balls to not pass CARES just to destroy Trump’s political chances (not a given IMO given divided government), they presumably also put him jail immediately after Jan. 6.

CARES + jailing Trump is the ideal scenario and doable with a better AG.
