I know the internet is a hell hole but after a Series of Unfortunate Events where my 2 front car windows were left cracked open for 2 days during rainstorm, I checked said hell hole and advice offered to previous victims of Unfortunate Events worked. Not sure how to feel, but I guess… happy? ish.

Mystery solved. It was a rocket launch. I happened to get out of my car a moment after it launched and turned around in time to see and hear the burn.

Ha! It turns out what I saw in the sky the other day was a rocket taking off. Just happened to get out of my car and turn around exactly when it was flying by.

Okay Bluesky, what make you of this? Caught in the western skies over LA. My fingers wouldn’t move fast enough to get video before the tail was gone. I *think* I heard something staticky from that direction. Ideas…?

I've watched the 2005 P&P so often that if it were in VHS all I'd have would be a warbling staticky ball of plastic. It is the stick with which I measure a yard.
