As a Bible-adjacent scholar, I’ll say that there won’t be much intellectual firepower rallying to Johnson’s position on the Bible and borders, and there will be overwhelming consensus for Leo’s position.

What will a DHS shutdown do to TSA? Honest question. Some reporting held that airline delays motivated of the last shutdowns to end.

Look how Blanche sticks his tongue out just briefly after saying it isn't a crime to party with Epstein. Means he knows he's saying something really disgusting.

You don't think Talarico or Crockett is a solid candidate?

my I did an info visit at UCLA in 1998 and the professor they had speaking there taught History of Rock. I remember thinking, I wanna take that. And I did.

Proud to have learned from you, Eric (if I may). Your course was the single course I had in college that most challenged my historical thinking.**
**Others challenged me in other intellectual areasβ€”I learned Greek & Latin, after all & Michael Saler was amazing in historiography.

Never mind the jobs you had, tell me five classes you took in college:
1) Epistemology
2) Euripides
3) History of Rock Music
4) Dead Sea Scrolls & Apocrypha
5) Twentieth Century US Political History with @rauchway.bsky.social

Wealth pulls people to vote GOP, but education pulls people to vote Democrat.

Huh? ICE is hunting Somalis in Minnesota. Yes, ICE is pursuing Blacks where it plausibly can.

Look, it’d be hypocritical for me to say β€œwe don’t need any more professional opinon-havers,” but opinion writing in 2026 doesn’t need the institutional support of a newsroom, and certainly not as a priority over reporting. Canning journalists to purchase more takes is a betrayal of mission.

β€œThe type he dislikes” probably assimilates Spanberger with other centrists you’ve criticized, whom maybe you dissociate with Spanberger in particular.
Love your work btw, Mr. Morris!

He's worried about a GOP bloodbath in Texas' new dummymandered districts. Which doesn't make the statement any less significant.

Wasn't sufficient for much of Platner's original staff, which tells you he doesn't inspire loyalty, isn't great to work for, and will have problems being an effective legislator since much of the work is done via staff. (Mills, to be sure, seems to have other problems.)

She's wrong. 18 USC 111 says that it's a crime to *forcibly* impede law enforcement. Pretti for one wasn't applying any kind of force.

Nice try, Eric. One essential thing's missing from this "insurgency": violence against the adversary.

26.01.2026 18:27 β€” πŸ‘ 9    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 1

Good point on Mills' approval rating; didn't know it had slid to the 40s.
Platner, tho', needed to come clean about the "edgy" tat (just a symbol of his larger past persona) right away when he started his run rather than let the press find it (& ambushed staff quit). He has a real integrity problem.

26.01.2026 18:26 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It's a contrast with Plattner.
My concern with Mills is that she won't commit to releasing her medical records.

Only reason Renee Good isn't being talked about as much is that Alex Pretti is. Do they plan on more violence?
