He’s serving his one and only term in the Senate, à la Kyrsten Sinema.

But unfortunately there’s nothing we can do about him for the next 3 years.

Democrats need to openly go to war against the SCOTUS majority. Don’t even pretend they have legitimacy. Just say, “They are a huge part of the problem, and if we get a trifecta we will take care of it.”

And then make it happen.

I am not a Curtin-hater, and there are definitely things that he did well.

But AFAIC, the single biggest argument against him is… Tai Baribo.

He let that man ride pine because he didn’t show in practice, while playing Chris Donovan. It was inexcusable.

Jim didn’t get fired because of one bad season. Jim got fired because he didn’t wanna play the kids. Ernst was quite clear about that.

He was overall an average coach — he had definite strengths and definite weaknesses. He was never the secret sauce.

Union had some of those too. We gave up second half stoppage time goals at home to both Columbus and Miami to turn wins into draws.

Granted those are much better teams than Toronto, but still.

Or maybe the real Viddui is the shutdown?

Now we know at least one Dem who plans to challenge Fetterman.

I wonder if Fetterman thinks his positions are politically savvy, or if he really believes this stuff.

Either way, he clearly learned nothing from Kyrsten Sinema, and he's serving his sole Senate term.

A lot of them know there would be less damage. They just don’t care. They say it’s the price we have to pay for freedom. Or something.

But those don’t even approach the popularity of football.

I don’t think you can blame prior generations of parents, because CTE in football has only been known for about a dozen years.

You can blame parents who still let their kids play now. But participation in the sport has been significantly declining, so many parents are clearly listening.

And should we be cheering on those choices?

That’s an almost philosophical question… But most other places you go would at least be *less* subject to America.

Also: if he gets unpopular enough, at some point the Republicans in Congress start opposing some of what he’s doing because they’re worried about keeping their seats.

Obviously we ain’t at that point either…

You might be correct.

But the point is that these popularity ratings are the marker for whether we are likely to get some large hunk of the public to make such a protest. (And obviously we ain’t there yet.)

So we already lost then? When you leaving?

1) Their ability to generate or overcome citizen-led resistance fundamental derives from their popularity or lack thereof.

2) They can do what they’re doing because Congress won’t stop them. If they become unpopular enough, that won’t continue.
