semi-regular reminder that ICE was only created in 2003
when you are asked to imagine a world without ICE, you're basically being asked to remember where you were when Lilo & Stitch came out
Sorry, was this me βtrashing Demsβ? Or the person who said they were still trying to get him to caucus with the Dems?

09.01.2026 13:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The guy gets amazing amounts of hate from the βtough on crimeβ types. I have to deal with it on my neighborhood FB page all the time.
And then he gets overwhelmingly re-elected.
How can the feds prevent city police from simply showing up and arresting the perpetrator?
09.01.2026 13:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I want to make another point:
We in healthcare understand that prevention is nowhere near as sexy as treatment, but it saves a whole lot more lives.
Krasner is directly preventing deaths by doing this. Other DAs who follow suit would also be saving lives.
People in positions of power respond to movements and incentives. They always have to be pushed.
So letβs push them, hard.
For starters, βabolish ICEβ should be the *minimum standard* for a would-be Dem candidate.
When the (committed non-partisan) sports teams start honoring people, that is a major sign.
We are indeed going to win.
Every DA in every big city in America should be saying this right now, and be fully prepared to back it up.

01.01.2026 21:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was never sure about Carranza. With the young players you never know who will make the next step.
Kai is in his prime and plenty good enough for the Championship.
Aw manβ¦ Thereβs hardly any replacing this guy at the MLS level. But no one can deny that heβs elite and will likely do very well in another league.
01.01.2026 00:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's kinda funny how every third political post on has some variation of "oh so you think there's going to be elections how cute" in the replies while the daily news is of Republicans getting boatraced in elections, manufacturing the reality you desire to be outraged about isn't just a rw phenomenon
31.12.2025 13:17 β π 1320 π 190 π¬ 60 π 24look we're all making a big bet on AI! and if it pays off as big as we hope, well, it's going to make a handful of people super rich and you're going to lose your job but get to watch mickey mouse fuck geralt from the witcher. if it doesn't pay off well then you get to pay for the bailouts
29.12.2025 02:25 β π 5585 π 1415 π¬ 28 π 24People keep saying that AI is inevitable. Like Bartleby, I'd prefer not to... We "have to use it!" My response to that is simply... WHY? Why is it being pushed so much and into so many things? Once you've gotten people to cede their decision making to an algorithm, eventually they'll stop thinking for themselves. Why would I outsource thinking for myself to a machine? I have a brain.
"You have to use AI."
...why?
You were not kidding. π΅βπ«

21.12.2025 04:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβll make this about more than drinking:
One of my rules to live by is βDonβt make excuses for seizures.β
Because the large majority of them are wrong. 8 times out of 10, if you have seizures, itβs simply because your treatment isnβt working and needs to be changed somehow.
Iβve been taking care of people with seizures for over 25 years. I can stand behind what I say.
19.12.2025 05:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Itβs not even bad logic. Itβs utter innumeracy.
18.12.2025 20:59 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs not deliberate.
But itβs people taking advantage of an opportunity to monetize whatever difficulty they can.
Itβs like a little bitty version of disaster capitalism.
Alcohol will reduce the seizure threshold when it wears off, but that effect is only meaningful if you drink a fair amount. Having 1 or 2 drinks in an evening is fine.
