All I think about when I hear people say that it’s bad taste to dance on Hulk Hogan’s grave is that Emmett Till’s monument had to be replaced with a 500lb steel bulletproof monument because white people simply won’t stop riddling it with bullets. So now it just has tons of dents. From bullets.

Being conscious that I’m still learning more about him, but the movement I’m seeing around President Ibrahim Traoré (Burkina Faso) is fascinating.

Hii! I haven't found much of a community here but I'm trying to make more of an effort to log on daily and I'm so glad I logged on today and saw your message. It's been some time. And yeah, I've been dealing with chronic illness since birth. Didn't realize you were as well.

How have you been??

And I don’t just mean stop messaging me. I mean stop in general.

Silencing these issues would be to be complicit in the ongoing terrorism the IOF and its enablers are engaging in.

But the woman who raised this protest. did so rightfully, and Mustafa and Microsoft's leadership absolutely need to be called out publicly like this.

For the record, I think Mustafa's work has been incredibly important, and I'm personally grateful for the efforts he's contributed to creating AI models to aid in better healthcare delivery and improved health outcomes.

Considering how major of a role Microsoft has played in our world these past 50 years, omitting this segment would be erasure.

For those who missed it, a brave person in attendance called out Microsoft for equipping the IOF with AI weapons. She did this during @mustafasuleymanai.bsky.social's speech, which is fitting, considering his historical take (pandering?) on ethical AI.

Shout out to all the publications + creators that are including the protest during today's Microsoft 50th birthday event.

I've recently started learning command line by using Terminal + Cursor… with a lot of guidance from Perplexity, but it's been a bit of a slow start. I'm determined to get there though.

If anyone has advice/resources to help this old dog learning new tricks, please share away.

it’s so underrated. the comedy is top-tier.

I'm still cautious of issues surrounding privacy, but testing in environments where this isn't an issue.

Of course, there's countless other use cases for a device like this, but these are some of the quality of life use cases that often go unmentioned in convos about AI and other tech,

3. Offering a summary of times I expressed frustration during the day so I can be more conscious of mood triggers

Testing this AI-wearable (Limitless Pendant) for the past week. It transcribes live conversations (after permission is granted…don't be a creep) and offers you searchable summaries.

Kidding. I do… but barely.

Despite being relatively tech-fluent in most regards, I'm not so much (or maybe just less patient) when it comes to figuring out how to set up a static site generator like Jekyll.

Anybody know if it's possible to deploy Jekyll—or another SSG—without a local development environment.

Re the experience of typing on modern keyboards vs mechanical keyboards, a friend compared it to making a rolling stop vs making a full stop and now I can't think of it any other way. For your fingers, the full stop is so much of a nicer feel. For me, anyways.

I never thought I’d say this, but… I’ve become a mechanical keyboard convert.

Putting aside the discussion of the sound they produce, switching from an Apple Magic Keyboard to a mechanical has helped relieve so much muscle strain in my hands.

Yeah, I get it now.
