The TX campers deaths and injuries are senseless and tragic…and so are the school shootings that happen regularly. We will debate if the campers deaths was preventable, but we know that school shootings are preventable with gun sense laws. #thoughtsprayers

I take public transit multiple times a week in SF. It is not dirty or scary. It’s clean and efficient and the app works great. Do I sometimes see folks who are struggling? Yes I do. Am I in a minority racial/ethnic group on the bus or train? Usually, and that’s ok. #SFmuni

🤣 I didn’t say my Dad was right, he knew it too. We do use the principle in medicine and other places though. Think eye rinse stations in labs.

Sad to say my 1940s trained chemist father was taught this too. Obviously he still said it to me, but supported our early 1970’s recycling and other environmental efforts til his death.

Hmmm. Replies make me wonder if folks think it’s great he can cook, or he cooks for the family, or he paid for it. It’s the 2nd & 3rd that I applaud, but shopping/cooking/cleaning/laundry are life skills that every child/teen should be taught early as responsibilities of sharing a household.

My 4 yo daughter diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1995. Paper log recorded
insulin 2x/day shots
4x/day testing on home glucose meter (intro1981).
Now she has continuous glucose monitors-smart pump. This improved control/quality of life started with basic science research. What a ROI ! #pedsky 🧪

I never imagined that funding science (with its huge return on investment and lives saved) would be questioned or terminated.

Remember those explainers of exponential growth of highly contagious COVID in unvaccinated populations? That prompted the shutdown? Measles is much more contagious.

As a pediatrician who lived the positive outcomes from this program (fewer unsuccessful codes, fewer tears, fewer families ripped apart), I have no words strong enough for my outrage…ditto on

I served in AmeriCorps when I retired from Pediatrics along side college students paying down college debt teaching SEL skills to 4 yo in preschool.

It was already a world class scenic roadway accessible to all with walking paths and bike paths also.

I don’t want to get to the new park; I can walk there like I did before you closed the highway. But driving south to Skyline…I travel through residential neighborhoods destroying their quality of life, and/or suffer horrific traffic congestion through GGP, degrading that park. Poor planning.
