Interesting note about Sinners’ 16 nominationsβ€”it was nominated in every single category it could’ve been.

There are 24 Oscar categories, and the eight it missed are the three Shorts, Animated Feature, Doc Feature, International Film, Adapted Screenplay, and Lead Actress.

Our Final Guesses for the 2026 Oscar Nominations Will the Academy Awards continue to recognize global cinema, or will they prefer to reward films closer to home?

Here are my final Oscar predictions, including a few big swings, a few medium swings, and an attempt to figure out just how international they'll get this year:

They are an imaginary middle-class Long Island family that lives inside Chuck Schumer's head, and who he uses to help guide his decision-making. (This is not a joke.)

Ben Affleck apologises for groping Hilarie Burton in 2003 Affleck said he had β€˜acted inappropriately’ towards the actor on an episode of MTV’s Total Request Live while another video of the star asking a journalist to expose herself has also come to light

In fairness to this person, he was an alcoholic for a very long time which resulted in a lot of behavior we now consider unsavory: www.theguardian.com/film/2017/oc....

The Race for Best Picture Is Up in the Air It’s pencils-down time for Oscar season 2025-2026, and the biggest category is up for grabs: Best Picture. Six spots seem solidified, but that leaves four others up in the air. Here are Gold Rush columnist Nate Jones’s best guesses.

Maybe I'm crazy but I feel like Leo is the main alternative. In a close race the tie usually goes to the person from the Best Picture frontrunner
