My district is a slice of 2 counties, the majority of votes come from a city 1 hr away (I live in an unincorporated suburb at the end of the northern county). I’m not too mad because that city means my district goes blue when my suburb votes dark red, but this definitely seems like a broken system.

100% this. All of our “don’t talk about politics at work” “don’t discuss politics with family” “don’t bring it up with new people” just serves to protect people with shitty politics.
