I picked it up earlier this morning and gave it a solid hour or so. I've enjoyed the hook so far; a bit concerned that it might be stretching itself a bit thin with such a large cast but still interested to see where it goes.

Rpgmaker.net coming back online is very significant, as a whole generation of 2000s and 2010s indie games was contextless and nearly lost without it.

It's wonderful to see it back in action. Hopefully to stay!

Good to see Bunstack here! Pâquerette was one of my favorite sokobans released a few years ago and they just released a big update. So if you're looking for a new puzzle game this is a great pickup.

It's really good, and one of those games that gets better the further you get into it, both story and gameplay-wise. I had fun watching you check it out and some of the other games you played.

an rpg roguelike with the aesthetic of like... a 2010s edgy forum comic (remember rubyquest?) that never stops surprising you as you play it

The good news is that it has a bunch of difficulty assist options, so you can tune stuff like damage taken / dealt, ammo etc. It also becomes a lot easier when you figure out some of the advanced techniques.

lets try some more assorted games on steam that I got in the winter sale, and maybe find some more good games with under 100 reviews! super drift blade, mini mini golf golf, devil road run, and ark's wonder dungeon, and maybe others? idk i have too many

I was playing Void Stranger at the time of release with some friends, so for us there was no community guide or any fallback measure so our only option was to vaguely gesticulate at each other and figure out what to do next. So we were all flying completely unknown.

I think it can work for some games like Iji where you have a robust guide with a lot of dev commentary and interesting asides, but having a singular guide also kind of takes away the wind from any sort of shared community discovery.

I can't say I agree, since I'm thinking of games like Void Stranger or Baba is You or Blue Prince and how much Stuff should your guide cover? Leave no stone unturned? What about easter eggs or funny little things?

You could just cover the critical path but then people will supercede it anyways.

hey so this is blatant false information punishing people for doing the right thing. no, it was not a "grabber". it was a reputable survey site that discord has used previously for limited surveys.

nothing can """grab""" information if you dont provide it, which an anonymous survey didnt ask for.

Just finished Who's Hungry, an RPG Maker rpg-lite experience. Took me about three or so hours to beat the game and I really enjoyed it, just an overall well rounded experience. If I were to be really nitpicky it has a few issues with pacing but nothing enough to really get in the way.

But I'll just keep moving forward as I always do. I'm hoping to finally kickstart my Godot dev efforts and work towards improving my art and code abilities as I look for work and wait patiently for the AI bubble to pop.

2025 was kind of a big stinker for me. Between injuring my back somehow at the start of the year, losing my job and my mother being in the ICU for Christmas there was just, A Lot that went on.
