I never finished it properly as publisher behaviour and current subscription models are not worth messing with so I was thinking about paypip.com (that was the name) “bounce” being a product that gave you the option of when bouncing away from a paywall of the publisher you could instead pay 20 cents

Because the paywall had the content it allows loads of novel ways to gift and share content and because you’re always logged in it was super seamless across many sites.

The whole point was it was easy to integrate, install an nginx module or a Wordpress plugin and set a secret and you were done more or less and it would automatically paywall the articles.

I had some similar ideas around this - basically it allowed a centralised wallet that you browsed the web with and charged per article but also you could have one subscription across a load of sites for example so say a load of interesting blogs could group together and make a subscription…
