The other day while I was in the garden, the song “The Time for Flowers” by Emily Scott Robinson came on.

Ohh boy had that one been bringing the tears out of me lately, but especially in the garden.

Something about growing and tending feels so powerful right now.

And if anyone has listened to it. What did you listen to or watch next that could even come close to comparing? Nothing is quite landing how I want it to after that.

There is this podcast. It’s called Divine Intervention. It is about Catholic resistance to the Vietnam war.

I can’t stop thinking about it. I cried multiple times per episode as we got to the later episodes.

It is incredible storytelling and important history.

I highly recommend.

I had to move away from the Springs, but now who am I supposed to turn to when I am wondering what Christian nationalist and other ne’er-do-wells are up to, or what you are missing when the good guys gather.

I WILL absolutely destroy an opened bag of chocolate chips by the handful.

I recently DM’d for my first D&D game.

I made it so clear that the start of Intrigue and conspiracy was one direction and a fight that was probably just beyond their abilities was the other. I even made it clear that there were other cool directions to go.

They took the fight. They lived. Barely.

Every time I do a healthy thing for my brain or body they respond by saying “ohh dope, look at all this energy and health we have! To celebrate how about we just never sleep again.”

Reading books, cutting screen time, running, journaling, and meditating have all had this effect on me.

One of the best parts of living in Colorado that people often ignore is the ability to just kinda disappear into Utah for a bit every few years.

This is a huge advantage that is often overlooked. It is also a very good thing in a way that simply living in Utah is not.

In my experience, evangelicals usually fall into 1 of 2 camps regarding persecution:

1. Believes they are persecuted.

2. Feels shame for not being persecuted.

Neither of these look at those imprisoned for resistance to the United States as persecuted, even though faith is so often the reason.

Ohh. I guess great job to them on becoming inclusive. My first post probably looked like I was against that, but boy is that not the case.

But neither of those rhyme. This has been taking up mental space only because my brain always tries to force a rhyme and says “with the helpful hardware face.”

I have heard people say that a counselor’s personal beliefs don’t factor into how they do their job.

I have quit two counselors because I felt like they were too capitalist.

We spent the class rifling through the little pocket constitutions to figure out how we could stop them and make sure that EVERYBODY got candy and the president couldn’t abuse their power.

All I am saying is that I would like to present this lesson to congress.

The university I went to had us go out and present a lesson on the constitution to fifth graders.

I gave an incredible presentation. Split the class into the three branches of government and coaxed the president to propose a bill that gave THEM the entire bag of candy.

I don’t know what the correct last word in Ace hardware’s jingle should be. But I can tell you for gosh darn sure that it isn’t folks.
