What comes out clearly about the “AI” shills and billionaire bootlickers is that they literally worship “AI” already, want the state to support it, don’t give a fuck about the environmental costs, and ignore that fascists and Republicans mostly run the large “AI” companies and develop the tech

Between a "No Other Land" crew mate filming himself being killed by a settler, to a journalist being killed by airstrikes he was covering minutes earlier, I'm not sure how much more televised Israel's genocide can be

Palestine Action protest arrests rise to more than 500
Police say the majority of arrests were for displaying placards in support of the banned group.
Meanwhile, mobs of far-right thugs and their gullible brainwashed footsoldiers are allowed to crowd around locations housing vulnerable refugees and chant for their deaths and the government cheerily describes their "concerns" as valid.
Feels like Farage is already PM.

If we do anything to regulate capitalism or improve conditions for ordinary people the capitalists will simply withdraw, with all their wealth and brilliance, to the floating kingdom of Devil Land

No one wants to hear this, but it’s true. Either we can value education — not for a select few but for anyone willing to put in the effort — and provide the requisite resources, or we can watch it become a pursuit available only to an elite minority, with everyone else getting a cheap facsimile

Media blackout on the eve of an invasion the whole world has condemned, by a state that’s been willing to do a genocide on livestream. What do you think comes next? Hearing reports of intensive bombardment. They’re leveling whatever is left.

It's a different block, but it reminds me of this classic juxtaposition: Photo of Mulberry Street in 1900 by Jacob Riis and the same spot in 2017. Always a helpful reminder that cars, especially in cities, are a historical blip.

"Does this look 'all natural' to you? Chicken sitting on the floor unable to stand up as it's been bred to grow to fast.
There's nothing natural about factory farming, and misleading food labels are hiding the truth. 💔
With the UK Government currently shaping its animal welfare strategy, now is the time to make our voices heard!

That was to my second answer (they asked me if they could have my phone number and name in case they wanted to call me about it).
Hopefully even if they have a version for GCs it's along the lines of "we allow people to choose staff they're comfortable with" rather than a capitulation.

I repeatedly failed as a bike commuter in my 20s - wanted to, but wasn't fit or determined enough to climb hills early in the morning before a grueling job. Then had kids, then found ebikes. I can do school dropoff, groceries, playdates etc. by bike - hills no prob - 20,000 miles and counting.

Headline: Debating Dickheads doesn’t ‘expose’ them, it empowers them.
Thumbnail: Mehdi Hasan debating a fascist on Jubilee, and The Feed posting a video called “Men Debate ‘Body Count’”
Wrote an article for @theshot.net.au about ‘debate content’, how it’s terrible for society and why we need to stop indulging in it.
“Ultimately, if debating dickheads worked, we wouldn’t be in a situation where dickheads are making the world a worse place.”

It’s okay though. Think back to the Google Books case where the judge said I can’t let this settle, that’s a policy issue and should be handled by Congress or it has to go to trial and be decided as a question of law. That was the correct holding. They won’t be able to settle this.
