Balloon section of the Cathayan lantern is complete! I was initially going to do a "glow from within" effect but I didn't want to fuck up the paintings on the outside so I'll leave it there before I go overboard!

Actually, this picture answered the question I had about the base clamp. I have my lamp off to the side like yours, so any replacement needs to be mountable in the same way. I've been thinking about a lamp like this to replace mine, mostly because mine blows out any exposure settings on my webcam
