Yeah, I've been fairly patient with Wissa and his poor finishing but looked like a lack of effort from the start on Saturday when he was presumably given the nod ahead of Nick to lead the line.

Hall looked dead on his feet by the end on Saturday. I wonder if this is just trying to make sure he doesn't break down and that we have him when it matters most. Looks like sit a deep and counter approach tonight, so probably one of the games we can more afford to rest him.

I don't fancy Elanga to cause many problems for Spence - when he's been matched for pace he's shrunk a bit. Should have more joy overloading Barnes, Willock and Gordon down the left. Might be a bit of a relief for Trippier to be up against Simons who I imagine will be trying to play centrally #nufc

Seems now whenever we're setting up for pure counter attack, he picks Gordon as the 9. Feels like accepting the attack hasn't clicked and going back to more cautious away approach that started the season with three 0-0s

Doesn't look like attacking issues will be resolved before the end of the season, but we're capable of being hard to beat and that should be priority to steady some nerves.

Even putting together a performance like the first three away games of the season - nil nils with barely any chances created or conceded - would be a reassuring step forward after looking so consistently open at the back recently.

I think Neave's got enough to make it in championship or lower prem, but maybe needs a loan before he'd be of use from the bench. Otherwise I think the talent are 15 and 16 right now

With competent fullbacks, we should be lifted back to the predictably midtable performances that have been typical this season. Trippier or worse at right back and we'll suffer through more of the shambles of the last few games.

From what I've seen of him, the Mackems found something along those lines in Sadiki. If I'm being greedy I'd also want this player to be about a foot taller though

That Pirlo association definitely seems to have inflated his price tag. His best attributes really needn't cost silly money.

The next Onana is what I'd be looking for. Can cover the ground Tonali does but is more postionally disciplined and can outmuscle someone like Joelinton. Another 6ft5 player would be lovely at set pieces too which we have to ruthlessly target for any small advantage on the teams with bigger budgets.

I loved him last season and at times bought into the hype, but I was absolutely baffled when fans and journalists alike started to say he was better than Bruno.

If we prioritise replacing his athleticism, it feels like there will be a bargain to be found somewhere.

A good start to this would be to see a few kids against Villa at the weekend, a game we absolutely do not want or need at the moment. If we start more than 2 or 3 players who we'd start against Qarabag it's a pointless risk

Spurs home form should make it as good a chance as any for a rare away result, but the fact they've not won in 2026 sets it up perfectly for a comfortable home win. Regardless of our form we've always loved helping teams out of their own ruts.

I expected we'd see something like this with Joelinton on the left going into the season. Gives a bit more balance and keeps Barnes ready to add goal threat from the bench which seems to suit him better.

Scored his first goal on Friday night, but when I watched a bit earlier in the season Park was struggling a bit at U19 and U21s, bar one good game against a non-league side.

I agree we need to mix things up and that Willock deserves a start. If Miley's back and we're set on dropping Tonali though I'd start Ramsey with Bruno and Miley at RB.

I'd like to see Barnes centrally at some point but also wouldn't mind him coming off the bench and playing Osula ahead of Nick.

Barnes's track record over three seasons now seems to suggest he's more effective as a 'finisher' off the bench like a pre-planned rugby union sub.

Yesterday was the first time Wissa has really annoyed me, as for all his poor finishing, what we really needed was someone who would at least press the centre backs and set the intensity from the start. Osula can do that with his general chaos

I like that lineup - puts together the players who are showing the most and in a position to do their best work (bar Tonali). Willock did his best stuff drifting wide from cm yesterday and did well wide against PSG and Liverpool away.

I'm not sure the formation moved Barnes much further into the middle. Might have been nice actually to try Barnes CF ahead of Woltemade and Willock LW (Wissa had been poor), but think it was just a case of switching to 442 and keeping on our "best" players.

Remember thinking he was pretty much finished around the time he gave Mudryk a last minute equaliser to knock us out of the league Cup 23/24. To his credit he then put together a really solid run when Hall was out to help us to the cup last season.
