Bluesky feels like Twitter in 2011. Bluesky the social network was never supposed to be the product. This was a prototype/proof of concept for the underlying tech (atproto). It blew up past their intentions and so they've been trying to stick the landing since.

one thing I have to remind myself is that the bsky team actually skews very young, and haven't really worked as core actors in 'real' companies
