It’s so cute how you think there are going to be midterms.

Maine. Ha. They have been talking about knocking off Collins for 18 years now. Every election is the one where Dems are going to oust her. Yet those Maineiacs can’t help themselves.

I used to donate money to the people running against Susan Collins. I’ve stopped. It’s a waste of my political contribution money. Those Maineiacs just can’t help themselves.

It’s facts like that that make the maga crowd think that they could still cut 55.4% of the program.

Sometimes, though, violence is the only answer.

Clearly, Vance poisoned him.

You better watch your mouth or he will revoke your security clearance. Again. M

Today, I took $24 in cash out of my right pocket, combined it with $14 I found in my dryer, and put it all in my left pocket, together with my lucky silver dollar that is worth $640, probably. My pants are now worth $678 at least.

Why on earth would the left want to help Republicans who won by small margins?!? Those are seats that are most ripe for the picking, assuming there are actually elections in 2026. Please, please, please don’t help them get reelected.

28.03.2025 19:02 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Seriously…what can they do? They are the minority in both houses. The only thing they can do is filibuster in the senate which is ridiculously anti-democratic and the left should not be supporting it. The People need to take action. There’s nothing the minority party can do.

28.03.2025 18:13 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

They should not have attended. Not one Democrat should have been in that room to listen to his propaganda, which is completely divorced from reality. Dems keep supporting the β€œnorms”, while the Republicans dismantle them with the Dems watching.

That was the response we needed. Not some homage to Reagan, who was a, you know, horrible Republican.

05.03.2025 04:38 β€” πŸ‘ 9    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Apparently, not. No wonder we lose so always.

05.03.2025 04:35 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Democrats need to stop evoking Republicans in their messaging. Kamala’s love affair with the horrible Liz Cheney cost us votes. Idolizing the horrible Reagan because he is, in hindsight, more palatable than Trump is pathetic. We need to project strength.

05.03.2025 04:34 β€” πŸ‘ 10    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Could not agree more. They call the left weak, and then we continually look weak, only encouraging them to call us weak more often and louder. We need someone to stand up to them with strength.

I don’t see anything in this conversation about laughing at or mocking them. Just a sense of happiness that perhaps they have finally learned. And I hope this has been the education that they need to truly change their thinking.

26.02.2025 03:55 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

So how do you suggest getting these voters to turn back to the Democrats? All I am suggesting is that perhaps letting them learn some harsh lessons is necessary. Convincing them with logic and rational explanations clearly failed.

Let me start over. I have read about the paradox of tolerance and I believe that part of the problem with the tolerant in these trying times is that they extend tolerance to the intolerant. I get why. It’s hard for the tolerant to be intolerant, but it is necessary for the survival of tolerance.

24.02.2025 00:30 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I have kids who rarely need grounding. They were raised to respect and care for everyone. They don’t do things that require punishment very often.

Liberals who think like you are the reason liberals are always losing. It is the very definition of Popper’s paradox of tolerance.

Ugh. Enough with β€œthe framers”. Our current government looks nothing like what the framers intended. Why have we dismantled their vision and then constantly look to them for guidance?

Sometimes the only way to education is through actual learned experience. It is not a lack of empathy to feel glad that people are learning even if they had to learn the hard way. In fact, is is a form of empathy to be glad they are finally learning.

@chrismurphyct.bsky.social why are you not posting on here first ? You have some great things to say. You are trying some great things. Yet you post on X where 100pct of the replies are meaningless and hateful.

It's not all roses here, but the engagement has depth and real convos happen

Kind of ironic that they dressed him as Caesar, given what happened to one Caesar in particular who tried to take power away from the Senate.

The uneducated are the problem. They don’t know what they don’t know. They can’t connect the dots of cause and effect, especially when the effects may not be felt for years. And they are too proud to admit that they are uneducated. Educating them is the solution, even against their will.

22.02.2025 22:04 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Agree 100%. To do this, however, the Dems need to cut a deal to end the filibuster now. We need to ride out their failing, increasingly unpopular agenda, so that when the tide inevitably turns, we can actually pass legislation like this to support the people.

21.02.2025 14:14 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

You know that thing where media puts their political affiliation and state after a politicians name? Can they start including state rankings on education and healthcare too? It would just make it easier to understand the context of what they are saying.

So then it seems like you don’t truly believe in democracy after all.
