Some good news.

London is meeting legal limits for toxic NO2 pollution for the first time – almost 200 years earlier than predicted – following the Mayor’s "world leading air pollution policies," City Hall announces.

The Ultra Low Emissions Zone - and similar policies - really do work.

How the simmering UK freedom of speech row reached boiling point How did we reach a point where the UK is being compared to a 'tin pot Third World dictatorship'?

What on Earth is this? An "in depth" BBC article about free speech in the UK that only cites examples of right-wing/ 'anti-woke' speech being suppressed. How can you mention Lucy Connolly but completely ignore Palestine Action / Just Stop Oil? Gob-smacking. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Historically, one interesting aspect of how incoming fascist governments have consolidated their position is the extent to which their predecessors have helpfully laid the table for them.

Dieselgate pollution killed 16,000 people in UK, study estimates Experts decry lack of UK government action and warn a further 6,000 early deaths could occur

Corporations killing us for profit.

Excess pollution emitted as a result of the Dieselgate scandal killed 16,000 people in the UK. Vehicle pollution tests were rigged.

124,000 early deaths in UK+EU. Economic damage of €760bn (Β£637bn). Rise in asthma.

Anyone prosecuted for manslaughter?

NPR published a story 5 days ago about three high ranking Trump officials with clear ties to Hitler-admiring antisemites and it barely made a ripple. These are the kind of stories that used to end political careers. Now the subjects of the stories just hold up a middle finger and keep plowing ahead.

Turns out yet again that the dirty hippies were exactly correct and the Sensible politics understanders were wildly wrong once more. And yet it seems like none of the latter group have ever been wrong about anything at any point. What are we to make of it?

Do you notice how this is *exactly* what all those protestors said was happening, and that this was not explained to the public, who were instead hit with a year of screaming all-channels terror about threatening, violent thugs on the rampage because of their racist extremism?

Trump just claimed β€˜Hamas is taking all of the food that they’re sending into Gaza’ β€” an egregious lie, as no food or aid has entered Gaza in over two months. He is barefaced lying to every US citizen about starving millions of people to death. If this is your guy, you are scum.

Tony Blair Institute have released a report which is getting a lot of coverage in UK today

It says the drive for net zero emissions is flawed and some media outlets have gone to town

However it’s a bit odd

By odd, I mean there’s a lot of bollocks in it and shouldn't be taken seriously 🧡🧡

I think the key thing to note here is: who automatically gets a hearing? What type of person can basically walk onto BBC News aged 22 because they have something they want to say, if they decide to do that? And who doesn’t get this, and instead gets quite startling levels of hostility.

PM: I'll only sign US tariffs deal if it suits UK The UK hopes to limit the impact of President Trump's tariffs in an economic agreement with the US.

Starmer: I'll only sign US tariffs deal if it suits UK.

It will be a terrible deal. NHS will vanish. Expensive branded drugs instead of generic drugs. Hormone injected beef, chlorinated chicken, becoming the 51st state.

Far better to join the EU.

We're not children begging for pocket money from mummies and daddies.

We're members of a society demanding the government hold up their end of the social contract.

End billionaires. Tax wealth. Take care of eachother.

It is costing you Β£20bn a year NOT to nationalise the water companies, and it is going to go up nearly 10% EVERY YEAR.

All that money is stolen out of the UK to foreign tax havens.

This is the cost that you cannot afford.

The government is going to slash benefits for some of the most vulnerable people today - and no impact assessment is going to be published to explain why or what the reason is. I hope someone challenges this by judicial review. I'll chip in towards the costs. www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/03...
