Trump is attacking the U.S.’s closest ally and trade partner, Canada, with illegal tariffs that are badly hurting Canadian businesses & U.S. citizens alike. Canada has been respectful & diplomatic (which Trump doesn’t deserve) but his attacks have only gotten worse.

There can only be one response made by every democratic country on earth right now to the White House. Coming to Ukrainians defence publicly and in support of Zelensky is all anyone should say.

The Liberal leadership candidates tonight hear Canadians — we are pretty damn clear that we are standing up for our sovereignty.

I realize now that I have a “trade deficit” with the store across the street. I walked over and bought a jug of milk. The store is abusing me and I’m tired of subsidizing it by buying something at a fair price that I want. I’m going to apply a tariff that will raise the future price of milk for me.

All of Trump's arguments for a trade war have now fallen apart. Data on fentanyl and illegal immigration from Canada show its a nothingburger. The trade deficit with Canada is entirely due to imports of Canadian oil. He now says he wants to exclude oil from tariffs.
