And yes, I said neoliberals because Democrats have presided over an enormous shrinking of social programs and policies (vis a vis means testing) that protected the working class from oligarchs. They are exactly the reason we have a populist sentiment today.

They are well versed in median voter theory. If they lose an election, its much more on them and their campaign than anyone on social media. And the game-ification of subjects like shipping 2000 lb fuel-air explosives to Israel is frankly disgusting. You *can not support this*. It discredits you.

Thats why when they stake out these positions, they are doing math, saying 'I can afford to lose these votes.' They say they can afford to lose people over genocide. They are the experts, they are making a decision that support for genocide is the better option.

So if we make this about 'genocide' then what about all the voters who insist that their government participate in it, rather than demand their candidate move on that single issue. Are they not single issue voters then?

The candidate has all the power in that situation.

You can dismiss any issue by accusing the person who says 'this is my line, if you cross it you lose my support' of being a single-issue voter. But it ignores the reality that the candidate who won't meet that voter is also saying "I won't reconsider this one thing."

I have fascism now, if this messaging strategy worked, we wouldn't be here. These same arguments were trotted out in 2015. We said 'don't run Clinton, she's controlled by corporations and never met a drone strike she didn't like.'
