a medieval manuscript style digital illustration. text at the bottom reads "god blessed me by making me transsexual for the same reason he made wheat but not bread and fruit but not wine: so that humanity might share in the act of creation. - julian k jarboe." in the center of the piece stands a trans person with top surgery scars, body hair, and facial hair. they are nude, with a red cloth partly draped over their body, and they hold a loaf of bread in one hand and a cup of wine in the other. in the dark blue background behind their head is a sun/halo and 5 stars, and on either side of them are stalks of wheat. there is an arched golden frame around them, and around this is an illuminated border of grapevines.

My trans theology group are working on a project to celebrate trans Christian joy for trans day of visibility - if you’re at least vaguely trans and vaguely Christian, please share your joy with us! Details on how to contribute are on the original post 🏳️‍⚧️

TransActual need to hear from you. The Trans Lives Survey 2024/25 is now open and your answers will be used to write a report (it will be anonymised don’t worry) that we can share with all sorts of people to help them understand what life is like for trans people in the UK today.

Lino print in black ink of Jesus on the cross, showing top surgery scars (periareolar with lateral incisions) in place of the traditional side wound.

A linoprint I’ve created of Jesus with his side wound interpreted as top surgery scars, inspired by Elisabeth Ohlson Wallin’s trans recreation of Caravaggio’s Incredulity of St Thomas

I think I go for bean (human being-human bean?) most often - ‘I’ve been a good bean’ or ‘I’ve been a very silly little bean’ (usually the latter)

I’m so glad! And thanks for the recommendation, it looks like a similar vibe to brede!

I often struggle to sit and read but I’m currently enjoying rereading in this house of brede (apologies if you already know it), low stakes but so subtle and insightful that I keep accidentally reading a hundred pages at once!
