To anybody who’s listening, to anybody who cares, I’m a Christian who is wholeheartedly against “Christian nationalism”. So was Jesus, who explicitly said “My kingdom is not of this world”.

Nobody but politicians win in a gerrymandering fight. It’s the D’s fault it’s this close anyway.

People can get their celebrity fix from their phone, they're not going to wait for a time slot for a six-minute puff interview. Colbert will be back in podcast form.
19.07.2025 23:01 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0You can believe, as I do, that Paramount paid Trump a $16 million bribe to approve their deal and still believe that 2 million nightly viewers ain't shit, and Colbert was cancelled legitimately. That's like half of what frickin' PewDiePie gets, only with far more overhead. Not to mention...
19.07.2025 23:01 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I really underestimated how much hatred for immigrants there was in this country. Even when I was a Republican (eons ago) I believed the "we're only against illegal immigration" rhetoric. But they don't even say that anymore. They're openly against non-white and poor immigrants, no sugar-coating.

26.06.2025 17:20 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Not a good argument, since welfare benefits don’t lead to more kids. Almost all of the developed world has been basically paying people to have children and gives generous parental leave and other benefits to boost fertility. Hasn’t worked. So this is one thing Republicans aren’t hypocrites on….

26.06.2025 16:59 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Isn’t that essentially what Mamdani is advocating? The only difference is that illegal immigration is at the very least a civil violation, whereas Netanyahu hasn’t done anything he can legally be arrested for. I am for pretty open borders and don’t like Netanyahu, but I also like the rule of law.

I agree with this article except on one point, Trump clings to the Reaganite notion that you can *always* grow your way out of a tax rate "cut" and that deficits don't matter. And he embraces some of the deregulatory *rhetoric*. But apart from that he's an 80s protectionist Democrat all the way.
