It’s also just very impractical because how it works is you “borrow” it per episode and you only get 3 borrows a month. So you can only watch three episodes. There is this thing called the season pass where you can borrow the a whole season but so far that’s only available for Series 1.

To answer your question having just looked into Hoopla it seems that they are the syndicated versions. Last Of The Time Lords is the shortened version and having checked a random Series 6 episode it has that intro grafted between the cold open and opening titles. And as far as I can tell it’s all SD

Cliffhangers are such a staple of the show, and we really haven’t had them regularly since Series 9, and then Flux since that was all one story. But the bulk of recent cliffhangers with some exceptions have mostly been finale teasers.

Honestly it comes down to what bonus material they can think of. But considering we just got a rerelease of Series 1-4, I’m not sure what could be done. I still think it’s far too soon to get the proper retrospectives we do with the classic show for the modern series. But idk

The fact is, I know that the Macra prop was extremely difficult to manipulate and it probably looks pretty bad. But! I still really really really want to see it in action!!

The Doctor always mentions learning escape techniques from Houdini. It’s first brought up in Planet Of The Spiders.

Maybe The Doctor visited Houdini between Seasons 10 and 11 since he no longer had his escapologist friend to get him out of trouble?

I’m definitely intrigued by the BBC America ratings alluded to. I feel like a lot of people dropped off during the gap year after The Husbands Of River Song. In fact I knew quite a few people who hadn’t watched since.

I wonder what happened to him. Must be having a pint with David Agnew, Guy Leopold, and Norman Ashby somewhere.

As far as I understand it the D+ exclusivity lasts up to one year after broadcast since the 60th specials + Season 1 were available roughly a year and a day after broadcast. I’d expect the second season to come out sometime in early June next year.

I do rather enjoy Meglos nowadays, but I do agree that it would be like 10x better if it was allowed to be the comedy it was written as.

He gets such satisfaction from the arts, the gentle art of fisticuffs.

This is basically a play on how Lionheart edited out the B&W episodes of Planet Of The Daleks and Invasion Of The Dinosaurs when the Pertwee’s were sold in the mid 80’s. So imagine making a similar edit to another story, the choice is yours!

If you had to remove one episode from a classic story and have the story still make sense, what would you choose? It doesn’t matter if it has missing episodes or not and you can’t add new material to remaining episodes to make it make sense, you can only edit out references to the removed episode.

Actually if we’re only counting BBC repeats then it seems that Genesis and Sea Devils are tied with 4 repeats each.

The moment the 2026 Christmas special news dropped I know we’d be in for a treat this Sunday. Looking forward to it!!

Recently obtained a bunch of Who off airs from the late 80’s and early 90’s and have encountered quite a strange edit on 3 Pertwee stories. The opening theme is era appropriate but the end is the Howell theme! Only seen this on Axos, Day Of The Daleks, and The Three Doctors. Very strange indeed!
