Neighbourhoods built after the advent of the car don't need to be designed around the car. Consider the Weespergilde development in Weesp—a suburb 20km outside of Amsterdam—which consists of seven car-free blocks and 42 homes including single family, starter apartments, maisonettes and townhouses.🧵

With the red asphalting of the cycle paths, the extensive 15-month long roadworks on Utrecht's Amsterdamsestraatweg are now complete!

The work has transformed an unattractive and unsafe car-oriented shopping street into a green, safe and attractive street for cyclists and pedestrians!

$17k US for a Load 4 75 is insane. Its $15k CAN which is already too high. Should be tops $11k USD

Work continues on Graham Avenue making it even more attractive. Kudos to @coolstreetswpg.bsky.social and @stephanedorge.bsky.social for the beautiful street art.

Really exciting to see Graham Avenue being transformed into Winnipeg’s first permanent pedestrian street. @coolstreetswpg.bsky.social is painting the pavement. Planters, furniture and art is being installed - including a giant fan that can be pedaled to cool people off.

My first thought was.."nope, not going on that bridge with that amount of people".
