Today was a loss for Halifax and I worry about a lot of the implications. I am angry. I hate injustice.
So, I went on a bike ride with my favourite person, we ate ice cream, and I turned my thoughts to the upcoming Kidical Mass ride.

Halifax's investment in bikeways reflects evidence-based transportation planning, extensive public and professional input, and democratic processes. In short, it is the outcome of good governance.

In the end we have to ask if want to be the sort of city that shrugs its shoulders over road deaths, or the sort of city that tries to do better.

Old enough to remember when Halifax was bold. Now we can't follow through on a plan to build a short bike lane on a minor street.

Morris Street bike lanes that were completed in 2020 or 2022 or 2024 would not be up for debate right now.

We're here partly because the roll-out was slow.

I went out to get photos of bike lanes and there are people using them. I wasn’t fast enough to get pics.

There were parents with their wee children biking too.

The HSC Annex is a good example of this too, based on the Mumford Future Growth Node engagement sessions a couple of years ago.
