Agreed. AC's marketing is pretty brilliant. Bleak Week, This Is Not Fiction, etc. They turn themed programming into mini-festivals, generating an event-like atmosphere. I remember the bad old days when the Egyptian routinely screens for 25 patrons.

Completely agree. The excerpt you posted is a complete misreading. Basically unsevered characters experience severance as a kind of blackout, so unsevered Gemma would not know how long the severed Gemma was in the room.

Starting out as Armond White's prized acolyte, Tongueass ultimately betrays him and ascends to become the minister of culture, where he approves only projects that promote Trumpism in an auteurist "late style." Ultimately only Renny Harlin and Mike Figgis were permitted to direct movies.

In his biopic, we'll find out that being called "Tongueass" on the movie nerd discussion group is what turned Peter, a high-midi-chlorian count auteurist, to join the dark side.

Even without knowing him, he's a Harris voter with some contrarian but evidence-based opinions. Yeah, he was negatively polarized by social media criticism and acted out, which made him look petty, but if his viewpoint is out of bounds, who is permitted to stay within the left's tiny tent?

I don't know, man. I hate Elon Twitter, mainly because replies are now a dumpster fire, but I also intensely dislike 2018-2022 progressive echo chamber/cancel party Twitter. If Silver represents the Wrongthink that is verboten here, this place is way too much like the latter for my taste.

The kangaroo slaughter in WAKE IN FRIGHT has got to be one of the top 2 or 3 most disturbing scenes I've ever watched.
