No one on the left or the centre does this. No one on the left ever demands we should take someone who has recently been elected to high public office on the back of a fair election and "terminate" their authority to occupy that office. The right does this repeatedly. The centre and the left do not.

So does everyone get $1 million if they believe that federal law enforcement improperly subpoenaed their cell data, or just Republican senators?

Far better for Starmer to have been decisive and sacked McSweeney today than dither and be cornered into doing it in the coming days. Once again, he’s made the weak, inept, guileless political choice.

The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.
