Four year olds are not too old for picture books. A beautiful book was turned down by someone in the shop yesterday due to the child being about to start school, and therefore "too old" for picture books.

Please don't force children to give up picture books too quickly.

Erasing books, libraries, museums is but a step in the erasure of people.

Protect these institutions at all costs to protect people.

I have heard so many newer writersβ€”including extremely good ones!β€”bemoan that they think they're a failure because they might have to throw out a half-finished draft and start over.

Throwing out a draft is
a) very very normal and
b) progress, not failure.

a picture of a book text. The text says "Suetonius adds that, according to some reports, he said in Greek 'Kai su, teknon' (which Shakespeare turned into the Latin 'Et tu, Brute'. It literally means 'You too, child', but what Caesar may have intended by the words isnt clear. Tempest cites 'an important article' by James Russell (1980) 'that has often been overlooked'. Russel points out that the words kai su often appear on curse tablets, and suggest that Caesar's putative last words were not 'the emotional parting declaration of a betrayed man to one he had treated like a son' but more along the lines of 'See you in hell, punk'.

Once again loving this interpretation of Caesar’s last words

I work in higher ed, have a faculty spouse. What's happening at the federal level is beyond alarming. If you care about higher ed (and all the benefits of world-class research, like medicine, health, tech, etc.), you need to pay attention and SPEAK UP NOW. Do not take higher ed for granted. πŸ™

I truly think people don’t realize how many universities and colleges β€” especially public ones β€” may shut down if restrictions on and withholding of federal funding persists for even one presidency

We are facing the demolition of American higher education
