I switched my fledging blog to Ghost for this very reason. Doing the same with not posting more on Twitter. I’m hurting my ability to grow by being on smaller platforms, and am relying on my own SEO skills and a lot of luck. But this is just a hobby and they don’t deserve even my meager traffic.

Absolutely! And even if you get that guy, it can still fall apart (Eichel and Buffalo). It’s just that there aren’t many examples of a team who didn’t go that route that won the cup. The closest to the Flyers route is Florida, as they had Barkov and the rest of their core were pickups.

I get the point that not all tanks lead to a rebuild. There’s a lot of ways to reach a cup. The Flyers have two top 5 pick level prospects in Martone and Michkov, so I don’t think even if they bottomed out they would look much different so far. It’s just not the full argument.

McDavid went to back to back cups and lost one by one game, both to a juggernaut. They are a yearly threat for the cup. The Oilers don’t even sniff the finals without McDavid. It’s also leaving out Tampa/Colorado/Penguins/etc.

I'm really trusting Briere to deliver this well. I hope he just extinguishes this bullshit so we can all get back to the important and very real issue: how do we acquire Quinton Byfield?

I was a rough skater. I kept losing my edge doing circle drills and for every time I did, he would make me do another run of the checking gauntlet. When he realized I was stronger than a lot of my teammates it became laps/suicides haha

Again, maybe there's reasons to! City, team, coach, whatever. Maybe this is just a blip and its all forgotten next year when Michkov comes to camp in shape and Tocchet was proven justified, but its just so messy right now.

I hear what you're saying and I hope that's the case, as I want the team to succeed. I would just think that if this somehow gets worse (let's apparently supposed to be a Fire Tocchet chant tonight, probably bullshit but we'll see), why join PHI instead of MTL/SJ/etc where the vibes are also high?

For sure, I'm definitely not siding on the hysteria being true/fair/real. But it's still a Thing That's Happening, especially if it's reaching 32 Thoughts. Players are noticing this.

There's been enough noise in the national media. It just makes Philly seem chaotic. Even if they 100% believe in Tocchet, that's still the factor of Michkov himself drawing all this attention. Honestly, we don't know how much the players like all the extra curriculars. It's still messy and annoying

This is becoming a huge circus though and can't be seen as good look. Too much chaos, even for Flyers.

I'm skeptical about a lot of the recent reactions coming from the hockey world being directly from Tocchet. These are voices in the industry who are trying to get clicks and views and that's working. I would hope Tocchet isn't happy with all the noise. If he is neutral on it, not a good look.

Totally agree. It's absolutely fine to see the game differently. I think it's good to seek out those who do, as long as they're sane, because then you might see something from a different angle that causes you to change your mind. But Twitter is just being the loudest shit head possible.

It's actually relieving that I have 0 presence on Twitter because I don't feel as pressured to post there and can focus on here/Reddit. If you create content, there is that little Content Ghoul in your head saying "it's better for the meeetriiiiiicccs", but why would I actually want that audience

He's been pretty good by xG by RAPM still, but this is pretty disappointing to see. He can still turn it around and end strong.

Drysdale's underlying numbers have taken a massive hit since his incredible start to the season. He was good until around December-ish and the wheels started to come off.

A point not mentioned in the article is that I think players like Couturier, Cates, and even Morgan Frost are always going to look worse on teams with bad goaltending. Their whole value add is low xGA, and if they still end up in the net, it’s hard to see the value. Fans rather lose 5-4 than 2-1.
