Oh no definitely not exclusive, just the difference between doing something for the fun of it and for a job really (as I’m well aware as someone who works in a creative field).

And we’re not stand ups or writers so we have the luxury of just fucking about without having to hone it down to the most impactful ideas.

A favourite joke that me and a friend tell is very simple and (in essence should be) short, but we always turn it into a whole story that lasts for ages with detours and and riffing off each other for a long time. Just to get to a terrible punchline. Wouldn’t be memorable if we just told it straight

Not to gloat, it was still only 25 minutes of work. And I won’t get paid for a month. But in a month the drinks are on me.

A message to all freelancers, if you can, please charge a flat rate per project. Saves everyone a lot of admin and unexpected charges. And ok, sometimes you might under quote, but sometimes you do 25 minutes work as I did today and it’s embarrassing how much that translates to as an hourly rate.

As a Scotland fan, international breaks are both torture and the best weeks of the season. Just about forgiven Kenny McLean for being Norwich after that goal.

I’m not quite sure how to deal with that. Scotland don’t score goals like that. In the second minute.

The only “good” landlord I ever had was someone who lived in the property previously and moved out to be with their partner but was keeping hold of it for security “just in case”. Which didn’t mean too much for me except that the property was actually well looked after and issues got resolved.

Just reminded me of the time when I was 18 and I think they were bringing in some new trains, and I got paid a tenner (I think, might have even been £20) for about an hour of getting on and off a carriage at Beckton station to test them. Not massively relevant but just unlocked that memory for me.
