Governments generally, yes. The US government, not so much. Evidenced by Medicaid cuts and various other things to gut any level of public health

For example, people eschewed the COVID vaccine in favor of ivermectin as a "treatment". Similarly, eschewed measles vaccines in favor of ODing their kids on vitamin A. In both cases when these "treatments" failed, they often sought medical care from a hospital (which was sometimes sadly too late).

Well you would think so, but that doesn't seem to be what's happening, because late-stage capitalism under increasing fascism and disinformation unfortunately doesn't operate under logic.

I think we're in agreement. Cutting vaccine funding is terrible and also various big players in health care stand to make more money by having treatments than having vaccines. Big corporations are just going to go along with what the fascist govt wants so it's bleak

And who makes money on said treatments?

People being treated for throat cancer pay a LOT more money than people getting an HPV vaccine.

I could maybe forgive some of this if 1) it wasn't destroying the planet with its electricity needs and 2) it wasn't embedded in everything without our knowledge or consent.

I used to keep bees. Honey is plenty processed! I definitely do not get the same effect of eating honey by, for example, chewing flowers. Although one could chew stevia leaves or sugar beets or sugar canes and get some of the same effect, I suppose.

Exactly. Like, my breakfast yogurt. Yogurt was made at home with milk that was pasteurized and homogenized...processed! Then further "processed" by adding bacteria and heating for a day at 100F. So is my plain yogurt "ultra processed"? I can't homogenize and pasteurize milk in my kitchen.
