JAMA Cardiology presents RCT: Aggressive Risk Factor Reduction Study for Atrial Fibrillation. It shows 82 men and 40 women, mean age 60, undergoing catheter ablation. One group had lifestyle risk factor management, the other usual care, with arrhythmia-free survival charted.

Among patients with #AtrialFibrillation, elevated BMI, and 1 or more additional cardiometabolic risk factors, aggressive risk factor management reduced arrhythmia recurrence over the 12-month period after catheter ablation. ja.ma/3WtwNAo
