Tech enthusiast.
Inadvertently ended up with a left-right swapped, subdued Animal Crossing palette.

12.02.2026 21:12 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 04K QD-OLED monitor that supports the Switch 2's 4K60/1440p120 modes, has Spatial Audio, Linear PCM 5.1 Surround, HDR10, 0.03ms response time. Best birthday gift ever.

12.02.2026 16:26 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A rarely (or never) mentioned point is that, unlike demanding ports on Switch 1 (e.g. DOOM) which disable screen or video capture, the so-called 'impossible' (not really) ports on Switch 2 leave the entire capture and streaming suite intact. Lots going on in 10-12 watts.
11.02.2026 12:14 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Which lighting mod is this? Doesn't look like the usual backlight mods.
08.02.2026 01:09 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I can imagine a bilinear filter or bloom effect achieving something close to this, but I would like something more sophisticated that is designed for fixed pixel displays.
07.02.2026 19:38 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The version of a game that I can experience on a plane, then come home and resume the same session with the same device with better graphics on a television, is not what I consider to be the 'worst version'.
06.02.2026 04:21 โ ๐ 9 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I don't see them as more or less greedy than any other profit-seeking corporation. They're like Lego to me- they have a selection of software or toys with high demand, value, and quality, and they stubbornly cling to their value. No company is pricing things out of the goodness of their heart.
06.02.2026 04:09 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Completely unserious people who rail against the evils of capitalism because Nintendo released a subtle color variant of the Joy Con 2, while zipping their lips tight w.r.t. Microsoft / Valve / Amazon etc. b/c they make the box or software or services they like. It's barely disguised console wars.
06.02.2026 04:05 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Terminally online gamers tend to own a bunch of devices, overvalue their own myopic viewpoints, and overthink everything. The casual person sees 'oh this is a tablet that plays a bunch of games, I might like something to play on the bus and at home' and decides if they want it or not.
06.02.2026 03:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It is, but it barely matters because the actual Direct footage (with better bitrate) looks so good already, and this is an actual Switch 2 screenshot. Unforced error from Square Enix.
05.02.2026 17:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I'm not particularly old, but having grown up with the GBA SP / DS and seeing a significant portion of Nintendo history... NS2 is one of the best consoles they've ever made. And it's one of the most appealing tech toys ever engineered. Already have too many games to play, from third party alone.
05.02.2026 17:48 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0One of the worst chains of logic I've ever seen from that E3 Trailer is 'both mummy Ganon and the long-hair green character have similar clothing' -> 'playable Ganondorf' -> 'they whitewashed Ganondorf' -> 'fuck Nintendo'.

04.02.2026 13:51 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0There's even DLSS and HDR demos. It is genuinely a neat piece of software. I'm actually planning on recording all the technical details for later reading.

Oh my fucking god
It would definitely be niche, but considering that the modern LG OLEDs incorporate features like BFI, VRR, and so on - incorporating some kind of 'retro scaling' option with integer scaling, deinterlacing, scanlines, etc. would be neat.

30.01.2026 12:50 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0One of the more annoying parts of Linux. I am content with Arch (and even MacOS's) `yay` or `brew` install of whatever's available. Grit my teeth whenever a package installer ends up in my Downloads folder.
30.01.2026 12:40 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I got a Morph 4K for less than half that price, it does the job. If only modern TVs offered integer scaling.
