it’s a lack of platform knowledge too. After you end a stream on YouTube, it will automatically publish the stream as a separate VOD (mainly because of different CPM rates and practices for ad money).

They don’t factor in livestream views into the VOD’s view count.

They always seem to end up on the light side of these types of calls.

It’s one thing when it’s a rival fan base complaining about it. But it’s every fan base in the league noticing they’re generally getting off light on a consistent basis around things that should be suspensions/majors

It’s the elbows to the head that get no supplemental discipline (I think this one today will be different, but Jones, Ekblad, Mikkola, and Bennett have all had them in the last year) while Rust gets 3 for elbowing Boeser. It’s the boards that should be majors that are minors or go uncalled.

it's an if (and a big one at that) but credible NCAA reporters have shared that their sources have said the person he beat up was repeatedly verbally harassing his mom and wouldn't stop when people tried to get him to stop.

For me, it's that the VP of Hockey Operations' son's team still seems to get beneficial officiating while there's been proof he's directly influenced officiating in his son's game.

He should've been banned from the league on the spot, let alone be allowed to retain the position for this long.

But yeah, it's the exact same stuff as the Bruins just a larger volume of it. There's definitely some extra layers of ignorance from people complaining about state tax benefits (dumb; if you're a good team, players will take discounts) and people mad at a non-traditional hockey market being good.

That means highlights are more readily available and posted now. It's also during Parros' Make Hockey Violent Again era which relaxed the stricter calls/suspensions on dangerous hits, which were already lightning rods in the past.

Also the officiating in general is just worse and more inconsistent.

The hate the Panthers get now isn't too different from the hate those Bruins teams had. They escaped penalties/suspensions that would've normally been called and it seemed there was different standard for them.

The Panthers part is magnified because social media is more of a thing now.
