After a recent trip seeing very old friends, it's been pointed out multiple times that I have a very good memory. This hadntvalways been received well.

You're making me feel very old calling the West Plaza building "heritage". I remember going to a hairdresser in the ground level when it had just been built.

My post was a bit confusing. I have been on the lush, summery Waiheke while worrying about my garden back in Dunedin. But the date I finally go home is also the date of last frost, so at least I haven't been tempted to plant too early.

I was lounging in the sun here last week, when Dunedin had snow on the hills. We need a longer growing season for things to ripen, so I will probably have to buy seedlings when I get back this week.

It's reassuring to hear you are holding off planting even in the Far North. I've been stuck in Akld for the last month, on Waiheke, where it feels like a Dunedin summer already, worrying that by the time I get back home it will be too late to plant seeds.
